[Night, and a campfire outside of town, in the lightly forested scrubland of the Neloi Flats. A good rendezvous point for a ragtag bunch of abductees; a point of interest for any stragglers, where fellow otherworlders can be found.

Just follow the smell of cooking meat. There's...there's a lot of it.

And while you're all feeding yourselves, there's a lot to talk about. For instance: who the fuck were the people that brought everyone here? What did they want? Who's interested in finding a way back home, and what's the best way to tackle that question? Where will everyone stay? How will everyone get along in this place?

Your world must spin very quickly around its sun then, if you only have the regular five seasons.

They're controlled by the legendary birds. Articuno brings cold, Zapdos brings peace between the others, and Moltres brings heat.

It does. After Alola settled above Unova, something needed to be done - my father tells me it began before he was born.

[ A pause. Stella plz. ]

[ Stella chirps, and sudden friendly headbutt. ]

[Hopefully nothing would happen to the birds then if entire seasons relied on them.

If it seems that Broly is being very cautious when he reaches out to touch the togekiss it's because he IS. Just about everything is incredibly fragile as far as he was concerned, and he didn't want to hurt it.]

Usually it's rotation that makes seasons. A planet's far away from it's sun, it's winter. It gets closer, it's spring. Closest it's summer or fire season depending, and then as it leaves again, autumn.

...When my Guards went to Alola, they mentioned Summer lasted longer then 30 days.

[ Basically, Unova is kept alive by legendaries because it's where the world-ending beast will come from.

She looks so happy to be pet! Letting out a few chirps, Noctis couldn't help but smile. ]

Your guards were left behind I take it.

[A pause, and he glances at all the OTHER people. Are they his guards?

... Meanwhile he's still careful, but he's just going to keep petting the fluffy thing. It's not often he gets the opportunity! Maybe that's why people kept pets, they were soft!]

Yeah. Ignis and Gladio - and Zoroark.

[ A pause, as he hears Stella cooing more and then whoops, she's wrapping her wings around him. ]

...Prompto's one of mine, though. [ w-well maybe. ] So's Stella. They're friends.

[Warm AND fluffy! It's a little harder to pet this way but he keeps at it anyway to the best of his ability.]

I haven't heard of those three. Prompto ... is he a good guard?

[He sounds a touch dubious.]

He's very friendly but doesn't seem good at fighting.

He's not a guard. He's... we're traveling together.

[ yes that's it. traveling to prove himself worthy. ]

Neither of us fight. It's Stellas' role.

[The bird does the fighting? Broly leans back a little bit to try to study it better. Triangles and fluff. It sure didn't seem dangerous.]

I guess he'd be good to travel with, he's very lively. But you don't fight at all? Not even a little bit?

[ He is heavily scarred and injured under his clothes and also his makeup - he couldn't fight for himself. He needs to find full sleeves - the makeup on his arms is flaking a little. ]

But Stella-- back here. Show him your Aura Sphere.

[ And the birb does pull away from pets with a huff, to move a bit away from the camp - before shooting out a blue ball of energy into the air. It feels quite strong - as it explodes like fireworks.

Stella barely charged it. But even then, the burst of energy does linger for a moment before she goes back for more pets. Noctis seems to be a bit enthusiastic, as he discusses her. ]

...She's strong. She also knows Softboiled, Flamethrower, and Present. I was hoping to teach her Hidden Power to see what type it is.

[Broly doesn't try to hold on when the bird chooses to leave, watching the flare of energy with interest. He'd never seen animals that could do that before, only people.

That suggested she might be a people too, and just looks VERY different from what he's used to.

This thought in no way prevents him from resuming petting as soon as that soft fluff is back in range.]

I'm pretty sure I know what 'flamethrower' is but the other two .. ..three, I guess, 'hidden power'? Wouldn't just a lot of training bring that out?

Hidden Power is a TM. Can't be trained.

[ Sorry, Noctis is nerding out, as she's appreciating these pets. ] Present projects a random amount of energy inside a box, wherein it explodes when touched. And Softboiled gives some of her healing energy. They're rare techniques.

...It's why she's my guard. Though she may look like a Fairy, she's good. [ And the Fairy-Type vanished, anyway... ]

...Can't tell yet. Might be spring or summer, though. It's warm.

I think it's summer. Night didn't last too long, and it was still pretty warm after sundown.

[Trust him. He has no sleeves.]

How long is that going to last? Should we be figuring out how to deal with the cold before it happens?

We've got 30 days. If we're lucky, a few more weeks.

Noct, those are months. Seasons are, y'know, a fourth of the year.

...Right.
[ He's looking rather confused, though. His years are only 4 months long. But for once, it seems Prompto knows more then him.

...It's a chilling feeling. Stella notes quietly: Pull Prompto aside and explain this. Sometime. Not right now. ]

But we don't know how many months are left. [ The word month sounds weird to him. ]

What's, what's normal for that?

[Prompto glances at Noct with concern, but--later. They're already gonna have to have a conversation about the one thing; might as well try to iron this little wrinkle out then, too.]

Uh, hard to say exactly? Depends on when in summer we are. But there'd be a whole season of fall before winter, if that's what you're worried about, so, like. At least ninety days, if this place works at all like Eos.
