New World New You
-> (1)
It begins with a bang; then, disorientation, darkness, dismayed voices, and spells that weigh down your limbs like heavy shackles...
The people keeping you captive seem as unsure as you are of what just happened, and argue and mutter amongst themselves, though they don't hesitate to restrain you, chain you to a pipe in the wall of this bottom floor of an underground parking garage, or lock you alone into a smaller room of the abandoned building where the summoning was held. You seem to unnerve them; they don't want to look you in the eye, and if they have to touch you to lock you up, they do so gingerly, nervously.
But maybe, once they leave you to yourself to go and argue and regroup in private, you're not quite alone? You weren't the only person to come out of the array. You have at least one companion in your confusion, one person restrained like you and not wearing the cultists' strange masks. Take comfort, take inventory, and prepare for anything.
-> (2)
The Joyous were prepared for you to attempt escape. Their preparations don't quite match what they got, but even poorly calibrated spells will do something, and the effects of knockout darts and magically reinforced walls don't discriminate. It's time to blow this popsicle stand...
...But you may want to take a moment to comb the area - once the Joyous have had enough time and reason to weigh their options, they'll run, leaving behind the incriminating results of their "botched" summoning. Those less able to escape confinement under their own power may need a hand, or to band together, or, at worst, to wait quite a while for locals to stumble across them...
-> (3)
You step outside into an unfamiliar town; small, sparse, just off a major highway running through the Neloi Flats. A perfect place for a cult looking for an unoccupied building, because there are a lot of those here, as though the town's peak has come and gone, leaving behind rusty signs for roadside attractions and a main street retinue of shops made of sheer stubbornness and spite.
There's not much direction here. There are locals, who will be confused by you, possibly wary and disbelieving. There's a temple, small like the village but likely to have charity you need right now. There's a highway, and following it in either direction will take you to one of two very different cities.
There's a whole country of possibilities before you, in fact. What ones will you chase, and will you do it alone?
[[As of this mingle: go forth and RP! You can treat this post like a game intro, or like a meme post; follow the prompt/s exactly, or alter the details to suit your tastes, or pitch a completely different scene in your own top-level. Let's get some stories started.]]

Well, don't hurt yourself too much! But there's something great about being able to stuff your face till you drop, something that tells you you really survived something. 'Specially if you can do it together with someone.

[She'll just. Peer at the cheese. It's probably ready now.]
no subject
Ready to try that on the not-potatoes?

How'd we do? Is it edible?
[Nomf nomf. Without cheese, Prompto's expert (read: awful twenty-year-old bachelor) opinion is that it still isn't terrible, at least.]

M's g'd!

Great! Maybe we should write this down so we can recreate it in the future. [He sits up a little straighter, snaps his fingers, and mimics (badly) what sounds to be a posh British accent:] "That's it! I've come up with a new recipeh!" And so on.

[Besides, nobody really needs to save a recipe for "throw random shit in a fire."]
My friend Ignis, he's really the one who cooks, anyway. If he were here, he probably could've whipped up a three-course meal out of nowhere for you. He's incredible.

This is good anyway...It's better than just meat. [See~ Compliment~]

[Smile smile : ) ]
So who's Yuuya? Big brother?

[And she stops there, flinching. As if a shock passed through her spine (and it did, given the tantrum storming around back there).
...She sucks in a breath.] ...I don't think I'm going to see either of them again, now.

[He says it quietly, misinterpreting her rigidity for fear, or--that's right, she said she just got here today, too. Even such a little kid...]
Did those jerks kidnap you, too? [Why, he oughta.] Don't worry, we'll find those guys and make them tell us how to get back home.

..I wasn't supposed to still be alive...so...if I went back, that would probably ruin a lot of things. [Like, the world, she figures. Zarc certainly seems thrilled about the idea, but all that means is another slight grimace-which, given the topic, is probably a fair motion to make.] ...It's okay though..!
I got to see lots of things here that I've never seen before...so if nothing bad happens, then it's probably okay.

[He starts to repeat it, but it just makes the dawning horror even heavier. This kid, she looks like she's in kindergarten. What the hell?! What in the name of the Six makes a little kid talk like that?]
Why... why would you say something like that? Why shouldn't you be alive?
no subject
...you're supposed to stop existing after you seal something. That's how it works. [Otherwise you end up with...well. Her, she supposes. The vessel and the angry, definitely not sleeping tag-along.]
no subject
[So many things aren't fair. Noct's life isn't fair. What happened to Ignis, that wasn't fair. Their whole trip to Altissia... nothing has ever been fair. But Reira's just a kid.]
Maybe I haven't known you for more than, like, half an hour, but I know you're a good kid. You like cheese and you weren't scared to try something new. A, a kid like you shouldn't have to suffer for doing something right.
[And he's sure, he's SO sure, that's exactly what she did.]
no subject
...If I didn't do it, a lot more people would have been gone anyway.
no subject
[He says it firmly.]
I mean... I may not be much of a grown-up, but at least I know it's my job to clean up the world's messes so kids can grow up feeling safe. Someone else should've taken care of it before you.
no subject
...But no one believed that it would be the way that worked...so they didn't try that one.
[...She sort of wonders if Prompto being in her world would have meant she'd even been in that situation, though. It might have. There's cleaning the world's messes, but then there's considering how many messes the world even has.
She's pretty sure it's too many for one person to fix. The mess from where she lived, she thinks, is a very different mess from the one she fixed after all.]

[There's not much he can say to this. She should be way more upset. He wants to be more upset! Being upset is like the one thing he's good at! But she's handling this so calmly and he doesn't want to freak her out. She seems so skittish and he doesn't fully understand why this is messing with him so badly.
(Because of Noct. Because of Lunafreya. Because of Ignis. Because of Lucis.)]
I... I know we just met, but I'm glad you're alive, Reira. [He sighs.] It would've been real lonely to eat funny plant roots for dinner by myself.
no subject
...She'll smile to that, at least, and nod.] ...And you got chicken.
[And you got chicken see, this is Very Important.]
no subject
...
Whatever that actually is.
[HE'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN HE SEES IT.]
