The egg like thing is briefly glanced at, he's not sure exactly what it is but that depressed him too somehow. Trapped on some strange planet with weird giant eggs and Noctis' fluffy bird, and
she can talk.
Apparently this is startling enough to make him wrench right around to ... verify or flip out or God knows what, but it's also enough to make him overbalance thanks to the new weight and topple right off his perch. Thankfully he doesn't get far, not with the scrabbling scramble that immediately follows and the scrape of wing-thumb claws on rock that keeps him from falling again. Downside, moving those things sets his back on fire with pain again and very slowly he levers himself back up enough to peer suspiciously over the edge.]
